now i have finished the machine learning specialization and then i saw here that a lot recommend to start the deep learning specialization, but i saw that that course has five courses and i saw that the advanced learning algorithms course (which i studied in machine learning specialization) has nearly most of things like the first two courses of deep learning specialization, so my question is do i need to start the deep learning specialization from the beginning or can i skip the topics that i already had in the advanced learning algorithms course ? and if any one here studied both if that true, from where to begin ?
Hi Abdelrahman @Abdelrahman18 !,
Huge congratulations on finishing the Machine Learning Specialization! ![]()
To answer your question directly: Yes, you should definitely start the Deep Learning Specialization from the very beginning , and here is why from my point of view :
1- In Advanced Learning Algorithms (MLS), prof. Andrew Ng builds high-level intuition about Neural Networks. But you will see In DLS Course he dives much deeper into the underlying mechanics for example including full mathematical derivations of Backpropagation , Vectorization from scratch using numpy , and step-by-step optimization techniques that really very useful for your journey !
2- MLS Course serves as a warm-up. And DLS ensures you truly understand what happens inside the “black box” of a Neural Network rather than just calling framework functions , and that actually build a solid intuition .
3- across all videos even those covering familiar topics with a beginner’s mindset and a curious attitude. You will be surprised at how many new technical things you’ll pick up at this course , honestly.
my advise to you don’t rush through it, enjoy the process, and best of luck on this exciting next step!
