DeepLearning.AI Staff & Community,
I recently came across a DeepLearning.AI e-book by Andrew NG administering such a powerful message that about how life is shorter than we think. He tells a story on how he was expected to live 27,649 days according to a mortality calculator. What do you think?
When Andrew realized how small of a number that was, he displayed that on his office wall as a reminder. It’s a sobering thought, but more importantly, it’s a call to action that what you do today, is the result of what you’re doing tomorrow, who you are tomorrow, and who you’re becoming.
We all know what it’s like to face setbacks, to feel like we’re stuck, or to wonder if the effort is even worth it. There’s this quote I heard recently that goes: “The bad days is the price you pay for having all the good ones.” Every challenge you face, every moment you feel like giving up, is an opportunity to grow stronger. Success isn’t about never falling; it’s about getting back up every time you do.
Each day you spend doubting yourself or holding back is a day you’ll never get back. You don’t need to have all the answers today – you just need to keep moving forward and trust that like everything else in life you’ve been able to navigate, that the progress, no matter how small, is still progress. And your future self will thank you for sticking with it.
Your struggles are shaping you – Don’t let the hard days make you think you’re off track. Every tough moment is preparing you for the breakthroughs ahead. Growing up, my Mom would always tell us, “Sometimes the things that work against us, are the very same things working for us.” Consistency wins the game – Small steps add up. Even when it feels like you’re not moving fast enough, you’re still moving forward. Your journey is unique – Don’t compare your progress to anyone else’s. You’re exactly where you need to be, and the path you’re on is yours alone.
So, keep going. Every single day counts. Push through, rise above, and remember that you’re stronger than you think. You’ve got this, and the best is yet to come.
What keeps you going when things get tough? Continue to share and inspire each other. We got this!
