# C4\_W1\_Assignment - Errors from grader

Hello

Trying to finish C4\_W1 assignments, but I’m getting below errors and got 0 score from all the grade points.

train\_val\_split. ( 0 points / 10 )  
There was a problem compiling the code from your notebook. Details:  
unsupported operand type(s) for +: ‘float’ and ‘NoneType’

compute\_metrics ( 0 points / 10 )  
There was a problem compiling the code from your notebook. Details:

Can you please help ?

When I ran individual cell in jupyter notebook, it generated exactly same output as the expected out - graphs / numbers etc.

Please don’t use global variables when possible.  
Looking at the function signature `def train_val_split(time, series, time_step=SPLIT_TIME):`, use the function parameters to perform the train / validation split.
