Hi. Weâve pushed a temporary fix. You can use the TPU by using the fallback runtime. Please relaunch the notebook from the classroom to see the instructions. Weâll monitor updates from Colab regarding using the TPU for newer runtimes. As of now, they havenât updated their docs yet. For now, this should work. Thank you.

I set fallback runtime.
But after that I get errors tensorflow and cv2 not found. I canât provide a stack trace of the error because I used up the free limit. Could you please check this lab and add the installation of the correct versions of the packages for the fallback runtime? Because when I installed the packages I got an error that TPU was not found (as in the message earlier). Maybe itâs because I installed the wrong versions of the packages.

i donât think now labs need to use the fallback session. This was resolved long back, notice you replying on almost a 1-year-old thread topic.
I also noticed you responded on other topic.
Did you try using the T4 TPU in the screenshot you shared? that is the one you are suppose to use.
I know the topic is old, but the problem has returned.
There is no T4 TPU in the screenshot, only T4 GPU. I used v5e-1 TPU with previous revision because thatâs what the lab says. If you donât do this, the first block of code throws an exception.
I understand that this is the temporary fix that was written about in April 2025. It is still present in the code, but it no longer works.

can you check what is the keras version itâs working on currently?
also just in case select the T4 GPU, and share the exception error it throws here.l.t. will have a look at it
Please tell me, have you tried to run this lab yourself? And do you have the option to select T4 TPU? If so, please take a screenshot of where you can do this. Because I donât have it on my screenshot. T4 TPU is missing. Only v5e-1 TPU
