C4W4-Project1-terraform apply crash

Hello @Guenter_Losert,

I don’t think terraform destroy will make a difference if you can’t delete the resource from AWS Glue > connections. I never had issues with that tbh but anyways you need to continue with that. If you can’t delete them manually try the following:

  1. Wait for a new lab session after a few hours that clears those resources
  2. If it continues you could fill this form for a lab refresh. That should clear them, note it takes 2 business days to complete.

Hope it helps

It is really stunning how problematic the user experience is with the AWS resources in this specialization. The tools seem very fragile and awkward to use.

Hello @Georgios and everyone,

Thanks for your support.

I tried several times and some of them failed, but afterwards I was able to complete this lab.
Some of thips are…
・Especially, follow the instruction of “comment out rule” of “main.tf” & “output.tf” files. Adhere to the steps of the ETL pipeline, commenting out the relevant parts in main.tf, output.tf in the order of extract, transform.
・Also, deployments were failing because they were still in the past Lab variables. We need to remeber to edit other files, especially APIEndPoint and others, not just the notebook.

The Lab environment is prone to connection timeouts and terminal crashes(with errors) as soon as something goes wrong. If I had been to able to edit the files properly, “terraform apply” would have finished quickly and in less time.

I’m going to try the Capstone Project Part 2 shortly..

Hi @Georgios,
I waited as you recommended, and this time, I was able to complete the lab.
But I had already submitted a form before that. So please ignore that request. Thanks.
