Categorical term in Optional Lab 08

I have just done the Optional Lab in “The problem of overfitting” and I have noticed that Andrew has just introduced the term “Categorical” for the first time which he hasn’t previously explained.

I am assuming it just means plotting the training data against input feature parameters to see more easily what category they fall into, either y= 0 or y = 1.

In the generic meaning categorical is a type of qualitative data (not numeric). Other words for it are classes, categories.
