Hello from Malika! 👋

Hello everyone! :waving_hand:
I’m Malika, a first-year actuarial and finance engineering student from Morocco.
I’m passionate about AI, especially how it can be used in finance, risk modeling, and portfolio management.
I’m here to learn, grow, and connect with others who are passionate about machine learning and deep learning.
Looking forward to learning with you all!

hello malika welcome! how is your roadmap constructed. which course you are starting with?

Hello! Thanks for the warm welcome!

My roadmap is still taking shape, but I’m focusing on building a solid foundation in the core areas of finance, actuarial science, and machine learning. To start, I’m beginning with courses that focus on:

Mathematics and Statistics
Financial Engineering
Intro to Machine Learning
Actuarial Science Fundamentals
What about you? Do you have a specific roadmap for your studies or projects you’re working on?

Hey! Your roadmap sounds super solid and focused — especially the blend of finance, actuarial science, and ML. That’s a powerful combo!

As for me, I’m currently building a strong foundation in Artificial Intelligence, with a clear goal of reaching good heights in AI, innovation, and tech-driven entrepreneurship.

My roadmap covers:

  • Python + AI Math (Linear Algebra, Probability, etc.)
  • Machine Learning & Deep Learning (practical + projects)
  • AI for real-world problem solving and startup ideas
  • Learning how to identify market gaps, build AI-powered products, and eventually launch my own startup.

I’ve got about 9 months before I need to be financially independent, so I’m making the most of this time to grow fast.

Would love to hear how you’re combining ML with finance/actuarial ideas — sounds super exciting!

Absolutely — it’s such an exciting space to explore! I’m currently diving into how ML can enhance financial modeling and actuarial predictions. Things like predicting claim frequency/severity, optimizing portfolios with dynamic data, and even using ML for better risk classification are super interesting to me. It’s amazing how much more accurate and efficient these models can be when you combine statistical foundations with machine learning techniques. Always happy to chat more about this if you’re into it too!

Wow, that’s a really exciting space! I haven’t explored ML in finance deeply yet, but the potential for better predictions and smarter risk modeling is amazing. I’d love to learn more about how you’re applying ML in actuarial contexts—do you use Python libraries like scikit-learn or something more industry-specific

Also, have you come across any real case studies or academic projects that inspired you in this area? I’m trying to understand how theoretical models are actually implemented in real-world finance or insurance environments — and your perspective would be super valuable.

Right now, I’m building up my AI foundation with a clear goal to launch my own startup in the near future, ideally applying AI in high-value sectors. Would love to exchange thoughts on where you see the biggest opportunities or gaps in your field!

Let’s definitely keep this convo going — always up for learning from each other.
