Did you pay for the course (or use financial aid)?

There is no certificate available directly from DL.AI. Certificates come from Coursera.

okay . Could you tell me about access to assignments and quizzes?

Unless you pay the course fee, you can only view the lectures.

The graded quizzes and programming assignments are only available if you pay the course feel.

“Enroll for free” only lets you sample the first week of the course.

Within the course, there is a link to “purchase the certificate”. That enables access to the graded assignments, so you can earn the certificate.

Hi @saipranay,

As Tom mentioned, it seems like you are taking the course on DL.AI’s learning platform. That version of the course is without quizzes and assignments (and it is free to take).

AI Python for Beginners (Coursera version) includes the additional content in terms of quizzes and assignemnts. If you wish to access those, you need to subscribe to the course on Coursera (not just audit it).

Thank you.

There is a different forum area for Short Courses.

If you’re attending a Short Course, please use the “Short Course Q&A” forum.

AI python for beginners is present in course Q&A section

There are two versions of the AI Python for Beginners course.

One is on Coursera. It uses the “Course Q&A” forum. That’s the one that provides a certificate if you complete all of the graded assignments (for which you have to pay the course fee).

The other version is on the DLAI Learning Platform, and it uses the “Short Course Q&A” forum. That one is free but does not provide a certificate.

Which one are you attending?

I understand. However, I don’t see a Q&A forum for ‘AI Python for Beginners’ under ‘Short Course Q&A’. When trying to create a new topic, I’m required to select from topics that only appear in the ‘Course Q&A Forum’ section.

I see. That’s very unexpected.

Which course are you attending?

Hi @TMosh,

@saipranay, is right, by design, AI PyThon for Beginners is only present under the Course Q&A category, because it is also available on Coursera, and to avoid confusion of having it in two places and people accidentally posting under the wrong category.

Best,
Mubsi

@mubsi: Thanks for the explanation.

This opens the possibility that there are students taking the Short Course version that cannot find a forum area on the Learning Platform on which to post their questions.

Maybe a read-only page could be created in the “Short Course Q&A” forum that points students to the forum in the “Course Q&A” area.

I think the key issue is that there are two courses with the same title using different platforms.

It’s also a little confusing that the Short Course home page is now called “DL.AI Learning Platform”, but its forum area is called “Short Course Q&A”.

Hi @Community-Team,

Please take a note of what Tom said above. These are valid points. Can you look into making these changes?

Thanks,
Mubsi
