Hi everyone, I’m a doctor from Mexico, and I’m interested in AI and Data Science.
In my last year of med school, I joined the Innovation Lab at the radiology department of the University Hospital “Dr. José Eleuterio González” in Monterrey, Mexico. Since then, we’ve been working in 3D printing, Virtual and Augmented reality, and AI projects.
In regards to AI, we’ve created and trained algorithms to identify some illnesses and other radiology features in Imaging studies. Last year, our team (doctors and engineers) created an AI algorithm that detects COVID in Chest X-rays and a radiomics-clinical model to predict treatment response.
I want to become a data scientist, but I don’t know how to start on this pathway. Is there a guide or a syllabus for someone who is not used to computational science? How much math do I need to know?
I appreciate your answers in advance.
