Hey! myself is aakanksha, i am from India 27 year old. I just want to know how we can use AI to help people who are dealing with depression, anxiety, self doubt those who are feeling lonely and have no one to listen them!
It might be better to utilize ones intelligence rather than a machine to deal with these problems!
I completely agree with you—human intelligence, particularly when it comes to understanding and responding to emotions, is unparalleled. However, my concern lies with those who don’t always have someone to listen to them or feel unable to express their emotions openly. For such individuals, could AI potentially offer some support? While it may not replace human connection, perhaps it could assist in identifying emotional needs or providing initial guidance when human help isn’t immediately available. I’d love to hear your thoughts on this perspective.
I don’t if it is you looking or you want to find solution. But there is an online community BetterHelp
I personally have never used any such things but I understand your concern point of view. I think @gent.spah is trying to point getting help from human specialised therapist is more better choice at guiding or listening to human thoughts.
AI surely can help, but even if you think yourself would you rely on a machine to listen to your thoughts?
The best thing is journal your thoughts good or bad, then put a constant effort at meditation as you let all kind of thoughts flow through your mind where you might feel like crying, or get angry, or just smile remembering a good memory or crave a burger if you are hungry, usually music meditation does help a lot, I have tried myself followed by walking barefoot on grass in early morning or anytime.
human have the most powerful tool brain which can damage or repair any kind of thoughts, it is all about being able to balance your thoughts between light and dark as we all have both sides.
If you say to get AI machine help, you can create a model which can relate human thoughts based brain wave frequency and provide a output of a fun music, if someone is feeling dull; or for a depressive and suicidal person, provide an inspiring story of how one overcame their depression, addiction is another pandemic globally resulting in other mental health issue, so to overcome that one needs a multi-disciplinary approach, and perhaps to create such a model lots of data, experimenting, computing will be required.
Hope this tickles your mind a little bit more
Regards

Thank you so much for your kind reply and the thoughtful insights you’ve shared on this topic. I truly appreciate your words.
I want to let you know that I’m already practicing many of the things you mentioned, such as journaling, meditation, and yoga, as part of my personal efforts to maintain well-being and create a positive impact. My main aim with this discussion was to explore the potential of AI in the context of emotional healing and growth. In this tech-driven era, while I understand the capabilities and limitations of AI, I feel that even small advancements can become a significant beacon of hope for those navigating difficult emotional challenges.
I’m not an expert in the field of AI; I’m just beginning to learn its basics—merely a drop in this vast ocean. However, my obsession with helping others who are silently battling their struggles keeps me motivated. I’ve experienced how it feels to be in a dark tunnel, where even the smallest ray of hope can make a world of difference. This is what fuels my passion to contribute, in whatever way I can, to uplift and support those in need.
Once again, thank you for your time and encouragement. It means a lot to me as I navigate this journey of learning and service.
