Math teacher is exploring a career change

My name is Alexandra. I’m currently working as a math teacher but exploring a career change into data analysis or a related field. I hold degrees in Applied Mathematics, Economics, and Statistics, which I believe provide a strong foundation for this transition.

While I’m comfortable with quantitative concepts, programming has always been a challenge for me. I’m taking this course with the hope that I can improve in that area—especially with the support of AI tools to help bridge the gap.

Looking forward to learning and growing in this new direction. If you are in a similar situation, please join me. I just started.

Best regards,

Hi, Alexandra.

Welcome to the forums and to the courses here! With your extensive math background, you should be well prepared to understand the material here. Of course programming is a different discipline, but there are lots of introductory python courses that you can use if you are feeling the need of any additional support if the course involves programming exercises. BTW you just say “this course”, but we can’t really tell what that is, since this thread is not in a topic related area.

The forums are also a great resource for questions on any of the courses or more general discussions.

Regards,
Paul

So far, I find the material easy to understand and interesting, a lot of the thing are review for me, but I am glad that I am doing this. The hardest is to find time to study.
