The labs connected to modules are missing critical data, including survey_data.csv in M2 and loan_data.csv. Attempts to reset the lab to get the latest version or rebooting do not work. I can also verify that other colleagues are unable to access the files as well. Coursera support has been useless.
You mention Coursera support, but you tagged this thread with “dl-ai-learning-platform”.
Can you clarify which is it?
I am taking the course on Coursera. It it is an ai learning platform
Hi. Can you post the link to the exact lab you’re referring to? Thanks.
Additional background:
“dl-ai-learning-platform” refers to the URL for courses that DL.AI offers itself.
learn.deeplearning.ai.
Coursera courses are offered through their URL: coursera.org.
Both use Jupyter Notebooks as the programming environment.
Here are screenshots from my environment and the instructor. In M2, corresponding data for “survey_data.csv” was available two weeks ago and then it is disappeared. I was able to supplement by using publicly available survey_data available on GitHub (although there were issues as the two files were not the same). Now in M3, there are no corresponding folders for loans and no file “loan_data.csv” available in any labs. There also does not appear to be a public resource to obtain this data. This issue appears to apply to other colleagues that have attempted to access the data on their own.
Hopefully a mentor for this course will reply shortly.
I am curious why the notebook file name in your first image is “Untitled1.ipynb”?
Hi. Like Tom said, it looks like you created a new notebook then ran that so the file paths there might lead to missing assets. Please use the notebooks inside the Lesson folders on the right. Those should have the correct files in order. If not, you can post another screenshot.
At the suggestion of the instructor, I created a notebook to follow the instruction (untitled file you reference). That is not the issue. I have attempted to reboot and can also verify that other users that are attempting to access these files cannot do so. It has been two weeks and there is no way for me to continue the course without the supporting materials.
I have changed the platform tag to “Coursera”.
Unfortunately I do not have access to the materials for this course.
Hi. Creating a new file in a folder without the files is indeed the issue. Please use the notebooks under the Lesson folders instead. Or create a new file there if you want. I suggest just using the notebooks because they more or less have the same code that Sean uses in the lectures. More importantly, those folders contain the files you’re referencing. Here are screenshots from Lesson 1 of M2 and M3:
M2 L1:
M3 L1:
Hope this helps.
I have tried everything and do not have access to those files. My colleagues, who have not created any notebooks, do not have access. Could you please send those files to me or point me in the direction of where they can be found?
Please post a screenshot after double-clicking one of the Lesson folders (e.g. Lesson 1). I see it in the left-side file explorer in your first screenshot here (Lesson 1-... that was modified 3 days ago) but you haven’t entered it yet. That should have the files needed for the demos in that particular lesson.
The files are simply no where to be found. I have again deleted all files that I have created. I have both updated the lab and rebooted. As you can see from the associated screenshot, the needed “loan_data.csv” file is no where to be found. They are also absent under Lesson1, Lesson2, and Lesson3.
I have been told several times that the needed files are available. If someone can access these files, can I please just have them so I can continue my progress?
The left side file explorer in your attachment still shows the parent folder with all three lessons. Please double click one of them to enter the folder and post a screenshot of the contents of that folder.
Moreover, you’re looking for loan_data.csv but it looks like you’re in the Module 2 demo workspace. That file is not needed there so it will not be there. That file is needed in Module 3 so you need to go to the Module 3 demo workspace (link). From there, double-click on the Lesson 1 folder and you will see that file along with the demo notebooks (as shown in the 2nd screenshot here). If not, please post a screenshot of the contents of that lesson folder (i.e. not the root/parent folder as you’ve shown so far in the previous screenshots in this thread).
please, how can i access this :

i cant implement the program associated with the deep learning course on deeplearning.ai. what to do?
Hi, and welcome to the Forum! I assume that is for the Machine Learning Specialization. To keep things organized, please select the course you’re taking here and create a new topic there.
This topic is for a different course (Python for Data Analytics). Thank you.
