Normalecuation explanation

Hello, i’ve started to learn the normal ecuation for linear regression by watching the cs229 lecture about linear regression, but, i don’t quite understand some things about what he tells, so i ask if you know a vido, or something like that that could help me understand how it works and the math that permits that ecuation.

Thanks

Are you referring to the Normal equation?

Hello. I found “Linear Regression in 3 Minutes” it worked well for me, but if you can be specific about which parts you don’t understand I might be able to help you

Yes, I want to understand how to arrive mathematically to the normal equation, but this goes too fast and,in my opinion, it doesn´t go very deep(youtu.be/4b4MUYve_U8?si=rBssx3UHHtpUD75e&t=3736)

well, i know pretty much all the theory except the normal equation, i want to understand i deph, also mathematicly, but in the video i provide avobe, andrew says a lot of thing and i dont understand lol, chatgpt, in that, didnt help me a lot

Does this help?

Hello, i understood better, but, i wonder what steps does andrew to take this derivative, he says he isn’t going to explain it, because he is going to talk about it in the lecture notes, but the lecture notes aren’t available. The moment he does it is youtu.be/4b4MUYve_U8si=pfbusdCrUw8ierh_&t=4534

He didn’t derive it, it’s a well-known standard method. It was developed about a zillion years ago.

The derivation requires knowledge of linear algebra and calculus. Sorry, I don’t have sufficient skills to derive it from scratch.

Is there any video that covers that out?

Not that I know of.

I’m going to ask gemini, i haven’t studyed calculus in a while,
