Post-specialization Misc Questions

Hi! I have 2 questions after finishing the specialization (hurray!):

  1. What is the “utils” module? I tried to find it on Pypi, but there seem to be multiple modules with the same name. In my opinion, utils is less well-known than pandas, numpy, tensorflow, etc., so it would be great if it is specified which utils module we are exactly using.

  2. Before enrolling, I was looking forward to a capstone project. However, as soon as I finished the 3rd course, my specialization certificate was generated immediately. Therefore, I would like to know if there is such a project for students to work on. Please find attached below a picture showing the “project” description paragraph(s).

Thank you in advance for moving my topic to its suitable place, and for resolving my questions!

The utils package is custom to each assignment. From the running notebook, click “File → Open” and that gives you a file navigation view of all the files in the assignment. Among other things, you should see a file called utils.py. Open it and have a look!

Hey @Cuong,
Welcome to the community. The hands-on project (s) refer to the graded assignments that are included in each of the courses of the specialization. Please read the last line:

If the Specialization includes a separate course for the hands-on project, you’ll need to finish each of the other courses before you can start it.

This indicates that every specialization doesn’t have a separate course for the hands-on project, like this one. I hope this helps, and congratulations on your achievement. Wish you all the best for your journey ahead

Cheers,
