I hope you are doing well.
I would appreciate your help in finding a solution for this problem. I enrolled in the course and completed most of it, but I was unable to finish the final lab assignment due to a grader issue. I checked your site and saw a notice stating the issue would be fixed soon. After waiting for about a month, I returned to complete the assignment, only to find that the course had become paid, and I now need a subscription to access the final lab.
I contacted Coursera support, but the bot was unable to understand or resolve the issue. As the course certificate is important to me, I kindly ask if you could help resolve this issue or contact Coursera to grant me the certificate.
It would be also great if you could fix the grader error so that I could finish the course.

I just tried submitting that assignment (M4ML C2 W3 Neural Network with Two Layers) and the grader worked fine for me.
Sorry, but the mentors are just fellow student volunteers. We have no employment relationship with either DeepLearning.AI or Coursera nor do we have any “channel” to Coursera to make any special support requests on your behalf.
The best advice I can offer would be to either pay for the course or apply for Financial Aid and then try to complete the assignment.

Firstly, I apologize for the issues you’re experiencing with the assignment and the Coursera platform. At Deeplearning.AI, we are unable to directly grant individual access to any student for our courses hosted on Coursera, as this falls under their jurisdiction.
I can reach out to Coursera to explain your situation and the grader error you’ve encountered. Please note, though, that we cannot guarantee they will restore your access.
In the meantime, I can review your assignment to better understand the error you’re facing. Could you please send your assignment notebook and the email you use to sign in to Coursera to me privately?

Also I would like to know which post mentioned there is grader issue with the assignment and is being addressed.
As far as I remember in the past 3 months none of the assignment of this specialisation had issue related to grader bug and post mentioning issue being addressed. can you please direct us to the post by deeplearning.ai?
the grader issue which occurred was a generalized Coursera issue faced by all course for a day or two which was addressed in 1 or 2 days. Do you have screenshot of your grader failure submission with date mention, this would help to raise concern with coursera, as it would be evident the issue was from their side, and then you could ask for a week extension only if you had already paid subscription (and not free 1-week trial)
Your explanation also about course convertion to being paid after sometime also seem not matching the specialisation you are doing as this specialisation is provided by coursera and learner can either take financial aid or paid subscription. Another way is 1-week free trial after which one would be asked to paid, so if you had taken this trial version, then you would have to pay to get access to the graded assignment and quiz.
Kindly provide us detail, so if these issues were not as explained, it can be looked upon and discussed by staff with Coursera too.

Regarding the grader error, after searching my laptop, I found screenshots taken before the course became paid. I apologize to Lucas for initially saying I couldn’t provide anything. I will upload some of these screenshots, and you can see the date they were taken: February 10th, 2025. The text is written in Arabic, but the date is clearly visible. Additionally, I will upload a screenshot of the subscription page or the message showing that I no longer have access to the lab.

screenshot of your submission grader with show grader output as it provides more info into why in your case grader failed, will be a more strong evidence to relate to the grader issue caused by Coursera. So kindly post that and not any notification from dlai.
Also when you took the course and what kind of subscription you took, paid or financial-aid(this information you can get from your coursera, take a screenshot and share these two with Coursera learner help center and if they find the issue was caused because of the grader bug, they will surely look into it.

based on the screenshot you shared, doesn’t seem like this issue was grader issue faced by coursera but in one of your grade function cell you modified the content of cell like removing a header Grade Function or editing outside the markers ###START AND END CODE HERE### caused the autograder to not able to detect or grade your codes for those grade function you failed.
As @lucas.coutinho mentioned, please share the submission file with him as he is the learning technologist of the course. he will check if your file had any issue.

As I mentioned before, I don’t have access to the lab. I have to either start the 7-day trial or buy a subscription.
I will start the 7-day trial so that I could give the notebook, but I am not sure if the problem will be solved.
I will start it and hope the error will be fixed.

Ali even if you take 7-day free trial, you won’t have access to the lab assignments. So I wouldn’t suggest you to go that route. rather go for paid subscription if you want certificate with paid or apply financial aid, you would get some discount based on your case request for doing the course when you have to explain why you are taking the course.
