Starting a course in machine learning

Hello everyone,

I have just started taking the course of "Supervised Machine Learning: Regression and Classification" in Coursera. I was wondering how I should get started in the learning curve besides the Coursera learning topics, and more into getting to know the community and working with you guys into the implementation and guidance towards the execution of the knowledge gained through it.

I would love you have your experienced shared regarding this topic. Your insight will for sure be very helpful for me.

In terms of applying this experience, although it might be somewhat limited at this point, you could perhaps develop your own projects or explore Kaggle and work on some of the projects available there. That could be a helpful training ground for you to gain more practical experience.
