Stem Cell CNN model. Advice for dataset and CNN learning?

I’m pretty new to ML. I want to make a CNN model to classify stem cell differentiation. Right now, I’m trying to find a dataset, however, it all is very intimidating and hard to understand what is actually going to fit my needs. I’ve checked a few sources like NLM GEO, but it’s quite confusing.

Anyone with experience finding datasets, please give me some tips. Also, for CNNs I’ve watched a lecture from MIT but where can I learn more.

Regarding CNN, the best I can say is course 4 of the Deep Learning Specialization.

For datasets, you can try Kaggle, or an internet search for “machine learning repository”.

https://data.midrc.org/

The Medical Imaging & Data Resource Center (MIDRC) Data Commons supports the management, analysis and sharing of medical imaging data for the improvement of patient outcomes. The data in MIDRC are open access in order to foster machine learning innovation through data sharing and include in addition to imaging files, patient demographic data, COVID-19 test results and other clinical data

Maybe start there. Or contact people involved for more detailed advice.

BTW I found that by

  1. Interweb search on deep learning for stem cell classification
  2. There are dozens of promising looking previous papers
  3. Read parts of the first one I clicked on and found this…

I would assume many peer reviewed papers in this domain will contain similar. Let us know what you find?
