The difference between the machine type in Vertex ai workbench instance and aiplatform SDK?

in the Lab “Running Distributed TensorFlow using Vertex AI”, What is the difference between the machine type which we set in Vertex ai workbench for Notebook and the machine type in python SDK of aiplatform.CustomTrainingJob run method? The machine type is already provisioned for notebook, so why we are specifying it again inside the script of the notebook?!

The one we set for launching the vertex AI workbench is for managing the notebook environment. The other machine type is for running the training job. For deep learning, the training machine is beefier than the one chosen for running the notebook.
