Tips on effective note taking

Hello,
I am currently taking notes for this course on a physical notebook because I find it easy & quick to write down math equations and it helps to actually think about and understand the concepts. But it is inconvenient to draw the surface & other plots on it. So i’m considering to switch partly to digital notes. Any tool suggestions for easily typing, formatting, and copy-pasting math equations for a word document since the built-in ones are a hassle to work with?

Hi @vigneshp,

You can try Google Colab or Jupyter notebooks if you want to run things locally. They both support standard \LaTeX notation and also allow you to insert diagrams into cells. Besides, an ability to run Python code will allow you to try the concepts from your notes.

Thank you for the suggestions. I was thinking of using Jupyter notebooks to create plots and equations and importing them into word documents. Then I’ll export them as PDF for printing.
