So i have spent my time readind and understanding the code over and over again . But since i dont know any calculus , i for some reason cannot reason well enough with our choice of what we save as Cache during forward propagation and like if we are saving A_prev then where will we use it ? Because i do copy paste most of the formulas like the calculation for dZ .
-
I am really looking for help regarding a few things : - Do i memorize the formulas ?
How do I code this thing on my own because i keep forgetting what function does WHAT and HOW because the maths does not make sense to me . -
If i dont really memorize the maths is it wrong ?
This exercise of writing your own code for backpropagation is just an educational exercise in gaining background knowledge.
In practice, you’ll never have to write your own backprop. All of the modern ML tools provide this for you automatically.
It’s fine if you don’t remember how it works. The lesson is to give you confidence is what the tools will do for you automatically in later assignments.
