Hello Everyone,
I just finished the AI for Everyone course and I was looking for advice on which AI Course to take next. I have experience in Data Analytics but I am not a coder. I have a background in Environmental Science and Biology. Which courses would you recommend next to learn more about basic AI and incorporating it into my career?

If you want to delve into the mechanics of AI, you need to learn some Python and have some understanding of the math behind it.

Perhaps you have some Math knowledge, I would start with a Python course, which you can do even online these days.

hi,

The **Machine Learning Specialization** is commonly recommended after ‘AI for Everyone’. But as @gent.spah mentioned, you do need solid basics in Python (loops, functions, if/else, and ideally some NumPy) for the coding labs, and a good grasp of high‑school math , especially algebra and some calculus for the lecture content.

After completing AI For Everyone, the best logical step is to dive deeper with the Google AI & ML Specialization on Coursera or the Logicmojo AI Courses. Both courses smoothly transition you from understanding foundational concepts to building real, practical AI projects. Google’s course offers structured modules with practical assignments using TensorFlow, while Logicmojo program provides broader coverage and hands-on projects across multiple AI domains. Choose Google if you prefer focused ML projects and a globally recognized certificate, or Logicmojo if you are looking for project based learning

Thank you for the advice. Learning python is on my list. Is there a particular python class that you can recommend for a beginner. I saw this one from Stanford that I was hoping to do self paced. It’s call Stanford’s Code in Place. Do you recommend the google python course?

AI for Everyone is good for basic foundation, especially theory. But ultimately you should work on projects from scratch. For that, consider some project oriented practical options, one such course I joined was Logicmojo AI ML Course. Your practical understanding and working in Google Colab, as well as your projects, will be build in GitHub

If you finished **AI for everyone** , the best next step is to learn some **practical skills**. You can start with:

- **Python basics**

- **Machine learning foundations**

- **Data analysis**

For Python + ML, you can take beginner-friendly courses from Coursera, Google, or IBM. If you want very simple explanations to understand AI concepts more clearly, **SkillWint** also shares easy breakdowns that help beginners understand topics without heavy math.

**Learn Python → learn basic ML → do small projects → use simple websites like SkillWint to understand concepts better.**

This will prepare you well for more advanced AI courses.

> Hello everyone, Hello everyone, I hope you’re all doing great! I’ve been working on an academic project for UX design, and as part of it, I had to create a new feature for any website. I thought DeepLearning.AI was a great place to apply my skills and knowledge. I started by focusing on a common problem in the community: “Where should I start? Is there any roadmap for learning AI?” This is a question I’ve seen many people post here on the forum. So, I did some research and analyzed different…

Hey,

- After finishing AI for everyone, Element of AI is the good step to learn because it explains how AI works in an easy and simple way.
- Then you can take IBM AI Foundation for everyone. It will help you to understand basics AI and ML in clear and beginner friendly way.
- You can also try the AI masterclass for non technical professional, it will teach you how to use AI tools without any code.

These courses perfectly fit your background, and will help you to learn how to use AI in your work.

Since you already have a background in data analytics and aren’t focused on coding yet, I’d recommend taking a practical AI course that covers prompt engineering, GenAI applications, and real-world business use cases before diving into machine learning theory.

You might also explore beginner-friendly programs from providers like DeepLearning.AI, IBM, or Edureka that focus on applying AI rather than building models from scratch.

Given your Environmental Science and Biology background, I’d especially look for courses that cover AI use cases in sustainability, life sciences, and research analytics. Domain expertise combined with AI skills can be very valuable.
