Hi everyone! My name is Yana, and I’m currently based in the San Francisco Bay Area.

My passion for AI started when I began developing a robotic thumb — a project inspired by my baby son, who was born with symbrachydactyly (a hand difference).

I’m working on building a prototype that uses computer vision to control robotic thumb. The goal is to make prosthetic devices more intuitive and comfortable for children.

I joined this community to connect with mentors, researchers, and AI enthusiasts, share progress on my project, and learn from others working at the intersection of AI and robotics.

I am so excited to learn and grow with you all!

Hi Yana, you have an inspiring story. Thanks for sharing. This is my first experience been introduced to Deep learning. Unlike you, I do not have an agenda, yet. Just exploring and looking at my options. I didn’t do so well on my first assessment, which wasn’t encouraging but I will keep going through the five week course and see if I’m a good fit for the next stage research. I’m Rhoda from - VA.
