Another question about DS to MLE transition

I moved recently from Data Science to Machine Learning Engineer. What specific skills should I work on to progress my career as an MLE? If I compare myself to Software Engineers then I lack skills related to traditional software engineering like system design, etc. I want to learn and progress my career as an MLE and don’t want to be like “Jedi” by moving back to DS.
