Applying AI to my field

Hi guys,

I am Anh, currently working in healthcare. I have observed the rapid growth of AI applications in every specialty, including ours. I realized that I cannot stand aside from AI development any longer. I do not want to fall behind, nor be drawn into “AI Almighty” hype. Therefore, I choose to improve my knowledge of AI and then find the most realistic ways to apply it to my specialty. I would like to collaborate with anyone who has similar interests.

Your perspective resonates with many in healthcare who are seeking a balanced approach to AI—acknowledging its potential while remaining cautious about the hype. A good starting point is often to identify specific challenges in your specialty where AI could provide measurable improvements, whether in diagnostics, workflow optimization, or patient outcomes.

Thank you for your insight. I am a reconstructive surgeon in Vietnam, so I often have a messy schedule and overtime work. My priority is optimizing my workflow and building tools to assist my surgeries, as I usually go solo due to the staff shortage.

I really appreciate your perspective. As a reconstructive surgeon, your focus on workflow optimization makes a lot of sense — especially given the challenges of staff shortages and long hours. AI doesn’t have to be about big, overhyped breakthroughs; even smaller tools that streamline documentation, scheduling, or intraoperative decision support could make a real difference in your day-to-day work. It sounds like you already have a clear vision of where AI could bring value, and I’d be very interested in exploring practical solutions with you.
