I feel frustrated with the quiz of the week 2. I find that instead of testing the knowledge, its trying to trick you. Specially when they ask you things not covered on the week’s material or using tricky wording. This is not a trap, it should help solidify the learning, not discourage by this.
Does anyone feel this way too?
Is this going to be the theme with the whole specialization?
I don’t care about grades, I only care to learn and apply this knowledge in my projects. But this is discouraging to be honest.
For example: please show me where in the week’s 2 material, they discuss the answer to this question:
1- What does a neuron compute?
Or why do I have to understand algebra to solve the computation graph.
Where have we discussed matrices operations? Like what are the properties of a multiplication?
Welcome to our community and thank you for taking our courses!
All of the courses/specialisations by DeepLearning.AI, including Deep Learning Specialisation are designed in a way to enhance the learning experience, not discourage it. I assure you, everything you see in this particular quiz and all which will follow (or any other from any of our other courses) are always made based on the content that is discussed within the lecture videos. No questions is made about something which is not discussed in the videos.
This has been discussed in the lectures. The answer to this is z = Wx + b. I’m sure you have seen Andrew mention/discuss this in the lectures. If not, I’d recommend to go through the lectures again.
Similarly, regarding the computational graph, there’s an entire lecture on it.
Please know, these courses will not teach you everything from scratch. You are expected to have some previous knowledge about some of the basic fundamentals. If you check out the FAQ section of this course, you’ll see this:
This is the same as, I’m sure you have had some sort of programming experience, otherwise you wouldn’t have taken this course.
We have an excellent community of mentors and learners who will help you along the way if you need any guidance. I promise you, the experience will not be discouraging.
