C1W3 - Assignment Naming Issue (c1w3-alb-scaling-policy) new

Hello community and mentors,

I am encountering an issue with grading for Assignment 2: Good Data Architecture in Course 1, Week 3 (related to de-c1w3-alb-scalin-policy ).

The assignment instructions required a specific naming convention for a resource, specifically de-c1w3-alb-scaling-policy .

Unfortunately, I made a mistake during the setup and named the resource de-c1w3-alb-scaling instead of the required de-c1w3-alb-scaling-policy .

The core problem I am facing is that I am unable to modify or delete the incorrectly named resource (de-c1w3-alb-scaling ) to correct this error.

This inability to fix the naming is preventing the automated grading system from marking the assignment as complete, resulting in a “Not Pass” grade despite completing the other steps correctly.

Could anyone provide guidance on how to handle this situation when a resource cannot be modified or deleted? Is there a specific procedure or workaround for this naming issue in the Coursera lab environment?

Any help or suggestions on resolving this would be greatly appreciated!

does not have the mentioned issue
is there a way to even to reset the progress

Thank you.

Can you try and go into the AWS cloud policy and try to modify its name, here are some steps for similar service I think yours should be the same:

If not possible from there then you can always wait for 2 hours and try again!

I wanted to check whether waiting for 2 hours will reset the lab and erase my current progress. Earlier, I attempted to reboot the lab, and I noticed that my previous progress was retained, which was helpful.

However, I’m currently blocked because:

  • I don’t have permission to create more than one policy, and
  • I can’t delete the existing policy either.

Could you please confirm whether the lab will reset after a timeout (like 2 hours), and if so, whether that would clear the current restrictions and allow me to start fresh with new permissions?

@vrishab Yes the lab resources automatically get deleted after 2 hours. If you start again, you should see a fresh account with no resources. You would need to repeat the lab steps.

issue resolved thanks
