C4W3 Assignment: EMR Studio workspace launch failed – No subnets in supported AZs (Lab VPC issue)

Hello Mentors and Course Staff,

I am unable to launch the EMR Studio Jupyter workspace due to an availability zone / subnet misconfiguration in the lab environment.

Error Message:

Failed to open Workspace: Workspace(notebook) is stopped. Studio has no subnets in supported availability zones. Supported availability zones: us-east-1a, us-east-1b, us-east-1c, us-east-1d, us-east-1e, us-east-1f.

Details & Steps Taken:

1. My EMR cluster is healthy and in the Waiting state.

2. Following earlier forum recommendations, I navigated to EMR Studio > Edit Studio (de-c4w3a1-studio-emr) to update the attached subnets.

3. The lab-provided VPC (vpc-05da3cebef2689a8a) only contains 2 subnets (subnet-0ba420a726471f613 and subnet-0399f9665daf24383), both of which are already selected and apparently not mapped to supported/available AZs. No alternative VPC or subnets exist in this provisioned account.

4. I performed a full lab restart/reboot from Coursera, but the newly provisioned environment produced the exact same subnet configuration and error.
