In the first video of this section - they demonstrate how the baidu system is not confused by the badge photo of Andrew… but there is nothing in the following videos that explains why this works. In the following lessons, we are simply comparing photo against photo. Will these networks we learn about also be able to not be fooled by a photo, or is there an additional level to the baidu algorithm which prevents that from happening?

The networks taught in the lectures can be fooled by a photo. Those network is trained on photos after all.

The demo shown in the video you linked has another additional system which prevents that from happening.
