Hello, While running the scripts/setup.sh script, I encountered multiple AWS CLI authentication errors. Below are the key issues:
Invalid or expired security token
Malformed authorization headers
Missing or incorrect AWS Access Key
Even though the script printed “Setup completed successfully,” the AWS-related commands failed, so I don’t think the environment was fully set up.
It looks like the AWS credentials might be missing, misconfigured, or expired.
This is blocking further progress, so I’d appreciate it if someone could get back to me as soon as possible to help resolve the credential issue.
Please let me know. I’ve attached the logs below for reference.
I encountered the exact same errors after expired sessions. The environment was not cleaned up leaving invalid env variable values. Clearing my browser cache followed by rebooting the lab didn’t help. I also tried to manually clear AWS credential values manually with unset commands, but to no avail. Please help!

hey ,I reached out to the course team. They said this happens when the lab has been used too many times, and the environment ends up with expired or broken AWS credentials. That’s why the setup fails they let me know the lab has to be refreshed by an engineer, but they only do that after you post in the community.
Hi khusha, thank you for your message. Yes, indeed! I used the lab for too many times because I often had to multitask and leave the lab mid-session. How do you get an engineer to refresh it? Does this count as posting in the community? Thank you!
Hi,
So just posting in the replies doesn’t count. What worked for me was creating a new topic (or post) in the community section about the issue. Once I did that, a staff member replied to me directly with the private support form link.
I’d suggest posting your issue as a separate topic—just explain what’s happening and mention that you’ve used the lab several times and now it’s not working. They should reply you with solution.
