Clarification of honor code

Coursera just prompted me to accept the honor code again

  1. is reporting a bug against the honor code?

  2. is asking for clarification on what a question is asking against the honor code?

  3. is using the docs for python functions against the honor code?

  4. is using print statements to debug against the honor code?

Thanks
Steven

It’s also not top secret right? I can brag or gripe or share enthusiasm with my friends, partner, and family. I can discuss ideas I’ve learned and had. As long as I’m not seeking help on the homework or quizzes. That’s reasonable right? I don’t have to hide my new knowledge from my programmer and scientist friends and partner?

I am, by the way, about to begin a lab, and am going to continue to assume I can use the online documentation and print statements to debug. I do not look up solutions, use AI, or in general try to read programming tips or guides pages, though I have sometimes accidentally loaded tips or guides pages, I back out of them quickly. I think it is fair to use the docs.

  1. No, reporting a bug is not against the honor code. In fact, reporting bugs helps improve the course content and platform.
  2. No, asking for clarification is not against the honor code as long as the question does not solicit direct answers or solutions to graded assignments. Seeking understanding is a legitimate part of the learning process.
  3. No, using official Python documentation or other reputable resources to understand functions is generally acceptable.
  4. No, using print statements to debug is not against the honor code.
