NLP course Errors
Hi Younes!
I’m taking your NLP course number 2 in the specialization, and I found error in the test in week 1.
This statement is the converse.
The explanation given is converse to the correct explanation, and checking this box is correct.
There is nothing in question 7 stating that the characters are the same.
There is no discussion board I can see on the course to mention this so I’m reaching out here.
to learners please note that the explanation given by the moderator is incorrect
Im going to simplify this as much as possible because no one actually read my proof.
The answer given by the quiz when you click the box is backwards.
If you simply look at the levenshtein distance formula, and think about it it should be clear, that if you do not replace anything there is no rep_value,
if you do replace something there a rep_value
if you can’t understand that, someone else needs to look at this question
the moderators reply:
" the option you selected is actually explaining the same thing. for d[(i-1), (j-1)] + rep_cost is only valid when the source and target letter are same, which in this case is not same.
Hence incorrect."
this is false, it is simply repeating the false answer in the quiz. which is backwards,
nothing to replace, then no rep_value
have to replace? include the rep_value
I really hope this is simple enough for you to follow now
Cheers!
