Note: Screenshots are welcome, but please do not post full assignment code.
This is the first assignment where we can’t test exercises one by one, but instead the review happens at the end. I made the changes in all the sections and submitted. I only received 10/100 points, but the feedback on what is wrong is very high level and I have trouble figuring out what’s wrong. Has anyone else encountered these problems? Is it possible to reset part of the exercise to see if I made changes outside the expected section by mistake?
For more information, please check the FAQ category.
The system also appears to have problems with saving files. I am now wondering whether it’s just not seeing the correct submissions, even though I have closed and re-opened it and my edits still appear in the files.
Do you know if there’s a way to restart the assignment from scratch? I am concerned that the first time I started working on it some of the files were not showing up, so I am wondering if something was corrupted from the get-go.
It might still be worth resetting the assignment, restoring the original version, and then trying the solutions again. Make sure you save your current solution somewhere first, so you don’t lose your work.
It seems there may be an issue with one of the files. You can restore the original version by clicking the three dots in the top-right corner and selecting the option to restore it.
Hey @Alkinoos_H_Vayanos . From your screenshot, it seems there is an issue with the tasks.yaml file. I’m guessing you might be missing a quote mark " or something, and the file is not parsing correctly. That’s also probably why it’s not saving.
In order to get a fresh version of the file, you need to click on the 3 vertical dots on the top right of the notebook, and select Restore Original Version. This will roll back all of the files, so make sure to download your solution before that.
Hey @Alkinoos_H_Vayanos ! Oh, this screen looks like a totally different thing! Did this happen after you tried the Restore Original Version button? Please let me know so I can reach out to out engineering team about this.
UPDATE: I just tried restoring my own lab and couldn’t reproduce your issue, so if this persists I’d really appreciate if you could give as much detail as possible to help us resolve the issues.
I reset the exercise and restarted my laptop. The time out issue appears to have gone away from now. I am now trying to validate my answers on an ongoing basis by submitting after each exercise. I am already getting an error on the first exercise. It appears to be reading the yaml file but it is complaining that several of my answers are still set to “None” even though they are not. I am adding the information below.
This is the error I get:
*Failed test case: You are missing tasks in the context of summarize_findingsYou have extra tasks in the context of summarize_findings.
Expected:
The correct set of tasks that need to finish before summarize_findings can be run.,
but got:
{‘None’}.
Failed test case: You are failing to mention some of the required keys in the expected output of the summarize_findings task.
Expected:
A mention that the expected output should be a dictionary with all the corresponding keys.,
but got:
none
.*
The errors you’re getting are actually due to an incorrect implementation of the solution. I’m not a mentor for this course, but at this point, I would recommend going back and carefully checking your implementations.
Hey @Alkinoos_H_Vayanos I had to edit your code since it contained your solution for the lab. Please refrain from posting any solutions into the forum. If absolutely needed, you can DM any of the mentors or course staff (like myself), but never posted in this threads.
That said, your solution looks correct. Did you make sure to save the changes before submitting your work? It seems like it is not registering your solution at all.
Well, I did ctrl+s to save but had not explicitly checked that it completed. When I reloaded the page this morning my code was missing, so it sounds like it did not save properly. So, I re-entered my code, pressed on ctrl+s and this time explicitly got notifications at the bottom of the page: “saving started”, followed by “saving completed”. However, when I submitted the code I got the same error message and a score of 3/10 on the first exercise.
I am using Chrome. Should I be using a different browser? Any other suggestions?
The first time I went through the exercise all the way through. It took a while and I only got 10/100 points with error messages that did not line up with what was actually going on. The reason I am doing it one exercise at a time is to try to figure out where things get stuck with minimum effort and be ready to reset the exercise and start over if necessary.
I had copy pasted it as text in this thread above, but here it is a screen grab:
