Hi all, my name is Owen. I am originally from South Africa, but I now live in the Netherlands. I have worked as a Software Engineer for 15 years as a Java backend specialist working with common frameworks like Spring, Springboot and many others. After 15 years, I have become a little ‘bored’ doing the same thing day in/day out. The domain changes but the core concept of what I do has remained the same. I researched a few topics which I suspected I would be interested in and settled on AI.
I was lucky enough to have a Coursera membership through my company and found Andrew Ng’s courses on AI and ML. I am loving it thus far en decided to join a community with like minded people. I hope in just a few short years I would know enough to be able to apply my skills in AI to better the lives of everyone around me.
