Is mlyearning [dot] org a phishing/scam website?

Hi everyone,

I was looking to re-download Andrew Ng’s book, “Machine Learning Yearning”, and the first website that comes up is mlyearning [dot] org. Upon viewing it, there were immediately some red flags so I wanted to ask here: is this site affiliated with Andrew Ng or deeplearning.ai?

They ask for an email address to download the book, but who is collecting these email addresses?

I believe the official website for the book is here: Machine Learning Yearning Book

But, even more worrisome, the official Google Scholar entry for the book (here) lists mlyearning [dot] org as the official website, so this link is getting propagated via references in published papers.

Sorry, I have no special knowledge here. I agree that this URL definitely looks like the correct place to start, but when I try to download there I end up with a 404 on the actual download URL for a pdf file that was generated.

I think we should highlight these issues to someone at Deeplearning.AI. @giovanni.lignarolo can you please have a look at this question and let us know if things are ok. The official looking place on the DLAI website definitely didn’t work for me, so something there needs to be fixed. And is the other one that Matt points out legit?

I’ve just a small question. Is the book available to download for free on this platform or do we have to pay for it ?

Bcz I entered the information required in this link but the page did not start any download. And I could not find any email from Deeplearning.ai in my inbox. Hoping for an early response.

I just tried using the URL provided above and it did not work for me. I clicked “Download” and it then prompted me for my email and name and asked a few questions (what country I’m in). But when I completed that, nothing seems to have happened. No download and no email with further information.

@giovanni.lignarolo would you please check with the team about this? Also note that there was no visible response from them on this thread when it came up last time in May 2023. Maybe this time, you could also ask them to confirm the followup here. Thanks!
