Key Error (Hugging Face)

Thanks for the very interesting course! I run into an issue regarding my Hugging face API key. I copied and pasted the first block in a Colab notebook and I substituted [‘HF_API_KEY’] with my personal keys. Unfortunately, I got an “KeyError”. I double-checked my keys seem ok. It is probably something trivial, but I don’t know how to solve it.

Did you have a similar issue or do you have any suggestions?

Welcome to the community.

I was able to workaround that issue by restating and cleaning the kernel a few times.

Never the less, this issue was reported to the develop team and should be fix any time soon.

Hi Nvcharan, I noticed that the topic is discussed in other thread. This may be helpful:

My take on this would be the following: If working within the course’s notebooks, we don’t have to provide an api key. For other environments you can do several things: Enter the api key directly in the openai.api_key variable. Set the api key in your OS env and just call it, as is done in the notebooks of the course. Store it in a file somewhere only you have access to, and retrieve it from there. This includes retrieving it by reading the file directly or by calling it via some api, etc. J…
