Looking for Guidance on Starting My AI Learning Journey (No Coding Background)

Hello everyone,

I hope you’re all doing well. My name is Kadidia, and I’m completely new to the AI world. I currently work as a Project Controller in the energy industry, and I have no coding or technical background. Even so, I’m very interested in learning AI because it’s becoming essential in almost every field, and I want to start building the right skills now.

My goal is to eventually become an AI generalist, someone who understands how AI works, how to use it effectively, and how to apply it in real‑world business contexts. Ideally, I’d like to follow a path that doesn’t require heavy programming at the beginning or at least introduces it gradually.

I’m reaching out to ask for your guidance on:

  • A structured roadmap for someone starting from zero

  • Which beginner‑friendly courses to take first

  • How to build a solid, practical understanding of AI without a technical background

  • Any personalized learning path recommendations based on my goals and experience

  • Tips from others who transitioned into AI from a non‑technical field

I’m very motivated to learn and would truly appreciate any advice, resources, or direction you can share.

I also recall that there is an application mentioned somewhere in the forum that can help with structuring your learning path. Try searching for “roadmap” first, and you should come across it.

There are lots of ways to get your roadmap you could use DeepLearning.ai Skill builder through the official website. Or use tools made by our community such as DeepLearning.AI Course Roadmap Tool - Personalized Study Plans it is an open-source project

Thank you for checking in! I haven’t fully finalized my plan yet, but at the moment I’m leaning toward using the community‑built DeepLearning.AI Course Roadmap Tool – Personalized Study Plans. It seems like a practical way to structure everything step by step, especially since I’m also coming in without a coding background.

I’m still open to more guidance or ideas if I come across anything better, but for now this tool looks like the best starting point for me.

Happy to share updates as I go, and I’d love to hear what you decide as well.
