Mom trying to catch up to AI

I worked as a developer until 2023 and took a break to care for my baby. Now, as I’m preparing to re-enter the workforce, I’m particularly interested in learning about AI and its applications. Given the growing influence of AI in various domains, I believe gaining knowledge in this area would significantly help me transition into a Product Manager role.

I would greatly appreciate any guidance or resources you could share to help me get started with AI. Specifically, I’m aiming to:
1. Understand AI Basics – Learn about Machine Learning (ML), Deep Learning, Natural Language Processing (NLP), and Generative AI.
2. Explore AI Tools and Platforms – Familiarize myself with tools like ChatGPT, Gemini, MidJourney, DALL·E, and similar platforms.

If you have any recommendations on courses, books, or practical projects to get hands-on experience, I’d love to hear about them. Additionally, any advice on aligning my AI knowledge with a future Product Manager role would be incredibly valuable.

Thank you so much for your time and support. I look forward to any insights you can share.

Welcome to the community.

Regarding 1) - There are specializations (offered by DLAI through Coursera) for all those topics. Those are a great place to start.

All of the Specializations have weekly practice exercises (which you can consider as small projects for you to complete).

Regarding 2) - The DLAI site has its own Short Courses on all those topics. They are free. You can find them in the “Short Courses” topic in the left side menu.
