Hello!
My name is Sophie, I’m 24 and have just started the Neural Network portion of the DeepLearning “Machine Learning” course on Coursera. I’ve been interested in computers, specifically programming, since I was about 13 but I’ve just recently began to really hunker down and put some aces in their places.
If you’re interested…
I think the most interesting aspect of AI or Machine Learning is the Neural Networks, a self-adjustment system that strives for optimization, and how humans have naturally leaned towards mimicking what we understand about the human brain. That’s not to say it was intentionally that way but it’s confirms the notion I have that patterns exist within, in between, and throughout the entire universe. Much of how we’re structured can be seen in random points of space. Being able to fit a bunch of information in a small container seems to be a pattern (consider: wrinkles of the brain and DNA). All of that is to say: even if humans maybe haven’t solely relied on the brain to construct the frameworks which act like architecture for the artificial neurons…it’s very “in character”. I don’t know, I could talk about it for hours but I’ll digress.
For right now:
My sole purpose right now is to introduce myself. I’m relatively new to the scene of deepening my ML knowledge, and have had almost no experience (aside from personal) with actually applying it. If anyone is interested in a joint-effort project, even a simple one, for the sake of learning, applying, or to add a project on a portfolio…I’d really appreciate being considered as a team member!
For your consideration…
Even if not for a project, I encourage anyone to respond to this post because I’d really like to start building a good foundation. I have a habit of existing in spaces with people but never really reaching out and I’d like to change that.
Regardless, I hope to learn a lot and grow even more. I appreciate anyone who made it to the end of my post. Thanks!
