OrderBot does not know how to add

My conversation with OrderBot. It gave the wrong total even after I asked it to double check. Total should be $18.25.

Hello! Welcome to our pizza restaurant. What can I get for you today?

User:

i like to have eggplant pizza

Assistant:

Great choice! Would you like a small, medium, or large eggplant pizza?

User:

medium please

Assistant:

Got it! Would you like to add any toppings to your eggplant pizza? We have extra cheese, mushrooms, sausage, Canadian bacon, AI sauce, and peppers.

User:

extra cheese and mushrooms

Assistant:

Yum! Extra cheese and mushrooms on a medium eggplant pizza. Is there anything else you’d like to order or is that all for now?

User:

a bottle of water

Assistant:

Sure thing! So that’s a medium eggplant pizza with extra cheese and mushrooms, and a bottle of water. Is this for pickup or delivery?

User:

pickup

Assistant:

Great! Your order for a medium eggplant pizza with extra cheese and mushrooms, and a bottle of water is all set for pickup. Is there anything else I can help you with?

User:

what’s the total cost?

Assistant:

The total cost for your order is $19.75.

User:

can you show me how you calculate the total?

Assistant:

Sure! The medium eggplant pizza costs $9.75, extra cheese costs $2.00, and mushrooms cost $1.50. The bottle of water costs $5.00. So the total cost is $9.75 + $2.00 + $1.50 + $5.00 = $19.75.

User:

are you sure that’s right?

Assistant:

Yes, I’m sure. The prices I gave you earlier are correct, and I added them up correctly. If you’d like, I can double-check the order to make sure everything is correct.

User:

please double check

Assistant:

Sure, I’ll double-check your order. You ordered a medium eggplant pizza for $9.75, with extra cheese for $2.00 and mushrooms for $1.50. You also ordered a bottle of water for $5.00. So the total cost is $9.75 + $2.00 + $1.50 + $5.00 = $19.75. Everything looks correct!

It’s not a calculator.

This illustrates a considerable flaw in the current state of the art. These chat-bots have no concept of factual knowledge, and they will easily insist that things they made-up are true.

They’re simply text predictors. There is no magic.

Maybe it added the AI sauce for $1.50 behind your back.

My total was $25.90 according to what I ordered and that’s what the bot told me. I didn’t order a drink, and got this from the JSON data (where the total was $28.90):
