Prompt Engineering Career

Hello guys.I hope you all are doing well.

I was looking to get a job as a data analyst but it seems prompt engineering is an emerging role and so I am looking to build my career in it.

I would appreciate if you can provide any roadmap with learning resources to excel in this role and eventually find a job.

Have a good day.

Hi @fantasy23.

Welcome to the community.

It is a emerging Job career and sounds promising.

Since it is a quite new concept, its hard to find a right way to get into, but i follow a good platform called roadmap.sh.

roadmap.sh/prompt-engineering

They have a lot a roadmaps about any career path. And one of then is Prompt engineering.

Keep in mind there is no guarantee that that roadmap will get you a Job as a Prompt engineering, but i think it is a good starting point.

Unfortunately, they don’t have any resources related with Excel.

This is a personal tip, but, if you are a developer, and looking for build a good applications and have no knowledge about prompting engineering, i strongly recommend a Prompting engineering course provide by Deeplearning.ai:

I hope this help.

Best regards.

Thank you so much for your reply. I appreciate that.

I already completed the " [ChatGPT Prompt Engineering for Developers" course and it was awesome.

I went through the link you provided however it seems there are just theoretical pages which we need to read and I cannot find any practical things which we can get some hands-on.

Yep!

I had have the same perception when i went through it a couple weeks back.

But it seams OK, though. Since it is a really fresh concept that was introduce with generative LLMs it is kind a expect behavior.

The good news is that the roadmap.sh platform it is a continuous updating project. So, as soon as possible they will be updating with a new contents and tools.

Let me know if you need any other help with this topic.

Best regards.

How practical would you like these things to be? I’ve also done the ChatGPT Prompt Engineering for Developers course and I found it quite useful. Based on that I later delivered a talk about the usefulness of ChatGPT for helping teachers teach pronunciation.
But that wasn’t about code, true. If you’d like to have a look anyway, it is here.
