I am currently a second-year university student researching the application of artificial intelligence (AI) in cloud computing, such as traffic prediction and error forecasting. However, after reading numerous papers to identify gaps in my research, I find very few new or interesting directions to specialize in. I would greatly appreciate feedback and perspectives from experts. Thank you sincerely.
That’s not a very popular topic at this time, most of the enthusiasm is in AI agents generative tools and whatnot.

The field is quite niche nowadays but don’t be discouraged, you can still find great insights in research papers, I personally find it more exciting to research niche topics that I’m interested in, you never know what might be a trend tomorrow. As an extra advice though, you should get your hands dirty and just use any off-the-shelf baseline you can find, it will give you an idea of the implementation itself which will help massively if/when you want to build your own app.
