I have found it easiest to learn when I take pen or pencil notes directly on printouts of slides (e.g. 2-4 slides per page) shown in the lectures. The TF1 lecture notes often include black backgrounds which makes this practically impossible, so I made a printer-friendly version which features black text on white background and similar for diagrams. (This involved setting Adobe reader to accessibility mode, going full screen, taking screenshots of each reasonably unique slide, pasting them into Powerpoint and exporting to pdf).
