The Basics of convnet quiz

Hello,

I just took the basics of convnets quiz week 1 of course 4 DLS. I’ve looked around and haven’t seen this question so I hope it hasn’t already been answered. I actually got the question right because I misread the question the first time through I think, but when looking at the congratulations message I realized I had no idea what was going on.

You have a volume that is 64×64×32, and convolve it with 40 filters of 9×9, and stride 1. You want to use a “same” convolution. What is the padding?

So we’re looking for padding. The congratulations message has a 121 involved in the calculation of the correct answer… I don’t really understand where a 121 would come from. This leads me to believe that there is something I am missing something in the golden equation of this section of n-f+2p/s+1.

Thanks

Thanks for bringing this up. The staff have been notified to fix the quiz feedback.

The formula you’ve mentioned is correct. The question asks you to find p, given f. Andrew does go through the logic to solve this question. Please watch the video and try again if interested.
