So, I don’t really know if Prof. Ng ever reads the forums here, but I really appreciated his personal contribution this week. I mean, even as I have recently started a new job, for the first two weeks, I was without heat and hot water at my house (and then since two months before that because of a boiler failure).
It has finally been resolved. Also, I would say (or am willing to admit), while myself I am not religious (my mother, whom was my BFF quite unexpectedly died of asthma when I was 9. Circumstances made it such that, for ideological and other circumstantial reasons, well, that was the ‘end of religion for me !’), but also having formally studied Philosophy, among a number of other subjects, even for someone in my position this does not negate the essence of having morals, trying to be good to one another, and helping out.
I guess I go out ‘on a limb’ here in being frankly honest only because sometimes you have no idea the things people are dealing with-- And I quite agree with him.
One way or another ‘knowing AI’ does put us all in a slightly rarified position of power. But it is important we do good with it.
All, let’s not f*** this up…
