What is the difference between running multiple docs with SimpleDirectoryReader or to use multiple tools?

What is the difference between running multiple docs with a single SimpleDirectoryReader with a single summary and vector tool or use multiple tools, one for each document?

I noticed I can have multiple docs loaded from SimpleDirectoryReader, but in the videos it seems it’s creating multiple tools, one for each document… what is the difference?

As far as for my understanding the idea of using multiple tools would come with the extra features added with these multiple tools which are already tried and tested with gpt models than with the simpleDirectoryReader.
