AI in finance journalism

Hi everyone, I am writing a report on the risks/opportunities that AI presents to the current roles performed by journalists - in particular, those who write reports within the world of finance and banking. In my view, AI is already incredibly useful in terms of writing statistical and data-heavy reports, as well as the data collection required for this, but what about when a report requires more of a creative touch in its writing style? Additionally, how may AI effect the operations of a financial media organisation as a whole in the next decade years? It would be great to hear some of your insights! Thanks!

Hello @tomshale

Adding Sources of Information is crucial in Finance Journals. To add credibility to an article generated using LLMs, It becomes more important to fact-check the source of Information.

It’s also critical that the cited sources be verified, rather than simply passed through as confabulations.

From what I understand, the bridge between humans (text) and machines is the embeddings. A media organisation will have to create a solid set of embeddings to create high quality content, that uses the proper context and meaning from it’s vocabulary. I don’t have experience in this area, but from what I hear, it’s extremely difficult.

A media organisation that can create a high quality set of embeddings will certainly have a competitive advantage in their ability to produce content of higher quality, faster, with lower costs.
