I am going through Lesson 1 in Building Apps with Windsurf AI Agents, installed the Windsurf app for Windows and did whatever I needed to do. Even Cascade is generating the html and js files, but beyond that I am unable to proceed. It is asking me to subscribe. I was under the impression that since this course is free, that I would be provided with at least a bare minimum id or what have you… Please advise.

Once we use the free credit we cannot use Windsurf in “write” mode, as shown in the videos, so we cannot follow the course as it is designed unless we pay a subscription (12$ in my country). This should be clearly stated in the course introduction, and it would be nice to get a discount code for those inscribe in this course
Windsurf has a free monthly plan that should be enough for the recreating the concepts shown in the course. But the agentic coding IDE’s from almost all the similar products eventually will need paid version for the actual experience.
Windsurf’s first monthly plan cost is lower that its competitors like Cursor.
@pankaja12 the problem with the free plan you cannot have agents modify the code automatically, as shown in the videos of this course, so you cannot follow the videos as they were designed.
Le me insist, a free month of the Pro subscription or a discount code would be highly appreciated.
It’s a free course, so you are extremely unlikely to get a free subscription to a paid service.
Ok, but the differences between the paid vs free versions of windsurf should be at least commented in the first video, and it should be clarified that the course is designed to use the paid version for maximum benefit
