C1_W1_Lab_1_data_exploration 500: Server Error when downloading notebook

I can not download the notebook.


I get a server error.

Has your subscription expired?

It has not started yet, I am within the 7 day trial. I am waiting for it to officially start. My other deep learning course allowed for downloads, but I had to wait to take tests. Is this specialization different?

By any chance your wait is depending on approval of financial aid, then free trial gets cancelled once you apply for financial aid.

I have been charged and still can not download the notebook. I am cancelling my subscription to this program until this is fixed. Please let me know when this course is fixed.

Firstly, please reach out to Coursera Learner Help Center to make sure you have a valid subscription to the course.

Once they confirm, please use the following method to download the notebooks (notebooks of these courses can be downloaded just like any other DLAI course):

  1. Open the notebook.
  2. After the notebook opens up, click File → Open...
  3. After the workspace opens up, click the checkbox next to the notebook, it will then show you a Shutdown option, click that. This will turn your notebook icon from green to grey.
  4. Next, click the checkbox next to the notebook again, and now you’ll see the Download option.

I took those steps already. I waited until the free period was over and I was charged. I then tried to download the notebook and the error repeated. I saw simply by searching on this topic this has been reported to your team several times already and ech time instead of looking into the issue, your team has consistently shifted responsibility, which is very disheartening, since any issues with the other DeepLearning courses, have been resolved when reported…

The last part shows C1_W1_Lab_1_data_exploration_and_image_preprocessing-Copy1.ipynb, which means you are trying to open a lab of this name.

When you click the Launch Lab button, it looks for the default file name, which in this case is C1_W1_Lab_1_data_exploration_and_image_preprocessing.ipynb

I’m guessing you renamed your file at some point. So that is one possibility why the lab ws not opening. Though, in the case you should have gotten a 404: Not found error. But nonetheless, the changed filename issue is there. Or there could have been some other issue.

But now that you have cancelled your subscription, there’s not much I can do to help you out. Even if I try to reach someone, the first thing they’ll tell me is that “you are not enrolled in the course”.

P.S I opened this lab on my end, it opens and is downloadable, which means there’s no issue with the course.
