C1W1 - singular vs non-singular matrice, error in slide?

Hello,

I noticed for system 4 below, it was classified as singular because it has an infinite number of solutions.

However, wouldn’t it be singular because it is contradictory instead?

Wouldn’t we expect equation 2 in the system = 20 and equation 3 = 30, if it was an infinite possible solution?

I’d agree that System 4 has no solutions.

• If you multiply the first row by 2, and subtract the second row from it, you get:
  0 = 5. That is a false statement, so there are no solutions for System 4.
