The answers to the question for this exercise refer to “covariance”. Is this the covariance between the first and second throw? If so, is the value for the second throw 0 when the second throw isn’t made or doesn’t count towards the sum? If this isn’t referring to the covariance between the throws, what values are we using for the covariance? Thanks

Thanks for your post. You are correct in assuming that if the second dice is not thrown, then its value should be 0. This is a correct way to model this exercise. I will ask out Curriculum Engineer to add a note clarifying this in the assignment.
